Abstract

Manusia sebagai makhluk yang dijadikan oleh Allah s.w.t. dengan sebaik-baik kejadian diberikan tugas dan amanah yang sangat besar, iaitu untuk mentadbir, memakmur dan membangun peradaban. Berbekalkan kejadian penciptaan manusia yang terdiri daripada unsur jasmani dan rohani dengan kelebihan akal dan kudrat, manusia berkemampuan merubah dan mencorak masa depan peradaban mereka sendiri. Persoalan tentang pembinaan dan perkembangan peradaban telah pun dibincangkan oleh beberapa orang tokoh sarjana dan pemikir tersohor di Timur dan di Barat dengan menjadikan manusia sebagai fokus utama perbincangan. Cetusan minda sarjana dan pemikir silam wajar direnungi dan dimanfaat oleh generasi hari ini untuk membangunkan kembali kegemilangan peradaban manusia. Pembinaan peradaban harus bercirikan keseimbangan antara kemajuan material dengan ketinggian akhlak yang berpaksikan tauhid. Kajian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan membahaskan beberapa aspek pemikiran dua orang tokoh pemikir Muslim yang berkaitan dengan manusia dan perkembangan peradaban, iaitu Malek Bennabi dan Ali Syariati.

ABSTRACT

Man is the best creation of the Almighty who is entrusted with huge responsibility to administer, manifest and develop human civilization. Based on human creation of both physical and spiritual elements, with the advantages of mind and strength, man has the ability to change and create his own civilisation. Issues on the creation and development of civilization have been discussed by contemporary scholars and thinkers in both western and eastern world ,focusing on man. The scholastic view of past scholars and thinkers ought to be pondered and benefited by today’s generation in order to revive the golden age of human civilisation. A creation of civilisation must provide a balance between material advancement and ethical dignity based on tawheed. This study was to analyse and argue on several aspects of man and civilisation development from the purview of  two Muslim thinkers namely  Malek Bennabi and Ali Shariati.
