PERKAITAN ANTARA FAKTOR DEMOGRAFI DENGAN KEPUASAN KERJA DALAM KALANGAN GURU KANAN MATA PELAJARAN (GKMP): SATU KAJIAN KES DI DAERAH JASIN DAN MELAKA TENGAH, NEGERI MELAKA (THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERCEPTION TOWARDS ORGANIZATION AND JOB SATISFACTION AMONG
Abstract
Kajian ini adalah bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tahap kepuasan kerja dan perkaitannya dengan ciri-ciri demografi dalam kalangan Guru Penolong Kanan Mata Pelajaran (GKMP) sekolah menengah di Daerah Jasin dan Melaka Tengah, Melaka. Objektif khusus kajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perkaitan antara ciri-ciri demografi seperti umur, pendapatan dan tempoh perkhidmatan dengan kepuasan kerja dewasa ini. Satu set soal selidik digunakan untuk mengukur aspek-aspek persepsi kepuasan kerja responden yang terdiri daripada 104 orang GKMP daripada 30 buah sekolah menengah di dua daerah, iaitu Daerah Jasin dan Daerah Melaka Tengah. Penemuan kajian menunjukkan majoriti GKMP merasa kurang puas dengan kerjaya mereka dalam mendaulatkan profesion perguruan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan ciri-ciri demografi GKMP mempunyai perkaitan signifikan pada tahap kebarangkalian 0.05 dengan kepuasan kerja dalam kalangan GKMP. Berdasarkan penemuan kajian, antara cadangan yang dapat dilaksanakan oleh pihak Jabatan Pelajaran dan Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia ialah mengenal pasti keperluan ganjaran yang sepadan dengan beban tugas, pembelaan terhadap masa depan yang lebih terjamin dan peluang yang lebih terbuka kepada semua GKMP untuk mampu bersaing dalam menjana pembangunan modal insan.

ABSTRACT
(RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS AND JOB SATISFACTION AMONG SENIOR SUBJECT INSTRUCTORS: A CASE STUDY IN JASIN AND CENTRAL MELAKA DISTRICT IN MELAKA)
This study aims to identify work satisfaction levels and its association with the demographic features among secondary schools’ Guru Penolong Kanan Matapelajaran (GKMP) in the district of Jasin and Melaka Tengah, Melaka. Specific objective of this study would be to know the association between demographic features such as age, income and length of service with job satisfaction latterly. A set of questionnaire used to measure the respondent’s perception on the job satisfaction aspects among 104 respondents GKMP from 30 secondary schools in two districts, namely the District of Jasin and Melaka Tengah. Research finding shows that majority of GKMP are feeling less satisfied with their career in ennobling this teaching profession. It is also show that demographic feature is having the significant association in probability level of 0.05 with the job satisfaction among the GKMP. According to the research finding, among the feasible proposals that can be done by the Education Department and the Ministry of Education is to identify the need of corresponding rewards equivalent to the work load, security for future life and more opportunities to all the GKMP to compete in generating the development of human capital.
