HUBUNGAN ANTARA KEFAHAMAN, KESEDARAN DAN AMALAN TEKNOLOGI HIJAU BERDASARKAN PERSPEKTIF ETNIK DI NEGERI MELAKA (RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN UNDERSTANDING, AWARENESS AND THE PRACTICE OF GREEN TECHNOLOGI BASED ON ETHNICITY PERSPECTIVES IN MELAKA)
Abstract
Teknologi hijau adalah pendekatan yang tepat dalam menangani masalah alam sekitar. Kajian menunjukkan ramai golongan berpendidikan tinggi dan banyak organisasi hari ini semakin berpandangan jauh dengan menggunakan teknologi hijau dalam operasi syarikat mereka. Kajian ini adalah satu kajian kuantitatif untuk melihat kefahaman, kesedaran dan amalan teknologi hijau dari perspektif pelbagai etnik di tiga daerah dalam negeri Melaka iaitu Daerah Melaka Tengah, Daerah Jasin dan Daerah Alor Gajah serta pelajar-pelajar Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) yang mempunyai kepelbagaian peringkat pencapaian akademik tertinggi. Kajian ini menggunakan persampelan rawak bebas berkelompok. Jumlah keseluruhan populasi di ketiga-tiga daerah di negeri Melaka adalah seramai 757, 271 orang. Manakala, jumlah populasi pelajar UTeM adalah seramai 9,030 orang. Responden lelaki seramai 186 orang (48.4%) manakala responden perempuan adalah seramai 198 orang (51.6%) meliputi etnik Melayu, Cina, India dan lain-lain. Bilangan sampel kajian yang diambil atau dikembalikan adalah seramai 384 orang responden. Sampel kajian ini bertepatan dengan saranan Krejcie dan Morgan (2012). Dapatan kajian yang diperolehi dari Objektif 1 (HO1), Objektif 2 (HO2) dan Objektif 3 (HO3) ialah: (i) wujud hubungan antara Kefahaman dengan Kesedaran Teknologi Hijau, (ii) wujud hubungan antara Kefahaman dengan Amalan Teknologi Hijau, dan (iii) wujud hubungan antara Kesedaran dengan Amalan Teknologi Hijau dalam kalangan pelbagai etnik yang dikaji. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan pengetahuan yang baik terhadap faktor kefahaman Teknologi Hijau telah dapat memupuk kesedaran terhadap Teknologi Hijau dalam diri pelbagai etnik. Fenomena ini telah membolehkan pelbagai etnik yang terdapat di negeri Melaka telah dapat membina, memelihara dan melaksanakan amalan Teknologi Hijau dengan baik.

ABSTRACT
Green technology is the right approach in addressing environmental problems. Research shows that many of the highly educated and organizations are increasingly farsighted using green technology in their operation. This study is a quantitative study to look at the understanding, awareness and practice of green technology from the perspective of various ethnic groups in three districts of Melaka namely the District of Melaka Tengah, Jasin and Alor Gajah including the students of the University Technical Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). This study used a random sampling of independent groups. The total population of the three districts in the state of Melaka is 757, 271 peoples. Meanwhile, the total student population of UTeM is 9,030 peoples. A total of 186 male respondents (48.4%) and female respondent of 198 peoples (51.6%) comprising the Malays, Chinese, Indians and other ethnics were involved in this study. The number of sample returned is a total of 384 respondents. The sample of this study coincides with the recommendations by Krejcie and Morgan (2012). The findings obtained from Objective 1 (Ho1), Objective 2 (HO2) and Objective 3 (HO3) are: (i) there exists a relationship between Understanding with Green Technology Awareness, (ii) there exists a relationship between Understanding with Green Technology Practice, and (iii) there exists a relationship between consciousness and Green Technology Practice among various ethnic groups studied. The findings of this study show a good knowledge of understanding factors of Green Technology has created awareness of the Green Technology within the multi-ethnics. This phenomenon has enabled the various ethnic groups in the state of Melaka to build, maintain and implement good practice with the Green Technology..
