HUBUNGAN BUDAYA ORGANISASI DAN KECERDASAN EMOSI DENGAN KOMITMEN ORGANISASI DAN KEPUASAN KERJA DALAM KALANGAN STAF PENTADBIRAN UNIVERSITI AWAM DAN SWASTA (RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AS WELL AS ORGANIZATIONAL COMM
Abstract
Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengukur hubungan di antara budaya organisasi dengan kecerdasan emosi ke atas komitmen organisasi dan kepuasan kerja dalam kalangan staf pentadbiran di universiti awam dan swasta. Seramai 272 staf pentadbiran dari lima buah universiti awam dan swasta terlibat dalam kajian ini. Rekabentuk kajian adalah survei dan berbentuk keratan rentas. Soal selidik yang digunakan merangkumi lima bahagian utama iaitu budaya organisasi terdiri daripada 24 item, kecerdasan emosi terdiri daripada 133 item, komitmen organisasi terdiri daripada 9 item, kepuasan kerja terdiri daripada 5 item dan 6 item berkenaan maklumat diri responden. Nilai kebolehpercayaan bagi setiap dimensi pembolehubah kajian adalah di antara nilai α = 0.63 hingga α = 0.86. Data dianalisis menggunakan kaedah statistik deskriptif dan inferensi. Hasil analisis deskriptif mendapati majoriti subjek menggambarkan budaya organisasi birokratik sebagai budaya universiti. Bagi aspek kecerdasan emosi pula, sebanyak 64% staf pentadbiran memiliki tahap kecerdasan emosi yang tinggi. Tahap komitmen organisasi dan kepuasan kerja juga adalah tinggi. Keputusan pengujian hipotesis memperoleh hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara budaya organisasi dengan komitmen organisasi dan kepuasan kerja (p<0.01). Juga terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kecerdasan emosi dengan komitmen organisasi dan kepuasan kerja (p<0.01).

(RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AS WELL AS ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT AND TASK SATISFACTION AMONG ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES)
The aim of this study was to measure the relationship between organizational culture and emotional intelligence on organizational commitment and job satisfaction among administrative staff in public universities and private sectors. A total of 272 administrative staff of five public universities and private sectors were involved in the study. The research design was based on cross-sectional survey. The questionnaire covered five key areas of organizational culture. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The descriptive analysis found that the majority of subjects reflected that universities embodied bureaucratic culture . Moreover, the administrative staff had high level of intelligence emotion. The level of organizational commitment and job satisfaction were also high. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between organizational culture and organizational commitment and job satisfaction. There was also a positive and significant correlation between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment and job satisfaction (P<0.01).
